HPNET is managed and facilitated by the HPNET Secretariat, which includes the Network Facilitator & Manager, Multi-Media Coordinator, Communications Coordinator, Thematic Coordinators, and Thematic Specialists.
The HPNET Secretariat advances the network's mission and approach with strategic and networking guidance from the HPNET's Board of Advisors, who are senior practitioners having multi-thematic and multi-country expertise; and the Board of Representatives, practitioners who serve as country nodes.
The HPNET Secretariat is supported by the following partners for its core activities.
The network was formed in 2013 with support from the WISIONS of Sustainability initiative at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy, which continues to support HPNET's core activities, including network operations and strategic advocacy.
With a history in fostering technology transfer for small-scale hydropower to practitioners in the global south, the Skat Foundation supports HPNET's network development and knowledge exchange initiatives.
HPNET's accelerator Social Enterprise for Energy, Ecological and Economic Development (SEEED) is managed by the HPNET Secretariat and developed in collaboration with various network members and partners.
