What is HPNet?

OUR MISSION

Catalyze practitioners of small-scale (<1MW) hydropower for the advancement and advocacy of resilient hydropower, towards equitable and sustainable development of rural communities in the global south.

MEMBERSHIP

HPNET members are a diverse set of international, national, and local actors committed to collectively promoting and advancing pico (<5kW), micro (<100kW), and mini (<1000kW) hydro.

The network was formed in 2013 with support from the WISIONS of Sustainability initiative at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy, which continues to support HPNET's core activity.
With a history in fostering technology transfer for small-scale hydropower to practitioners in the global south, the Skat Foundation supports HPNET's knowledge development and advocacy initiatives.
